HomeAway releases “Whole-Home, Whole Community” plan for New Orleans

Over the last several months in New Orleans, the HomeAway Government & Public Affairs team has met with over 200 local homeowners and managers, housing advocates, small business leaders and neighbors to gain a better understanding of what fair and effective short-term rental policies could look like for the Crescent City. All along our goal has been to open the lines of communication with voices on all sides of the issue in an effort to craft a holistic solution that addresses community concerns while protecting the $900 million in economic activity generated by the local short-term rental industry.

HomeAway is proud to roll out our Whole-Home, Whole Community policy framework for the City of New Orleans. The regulatory roadmap pulls from lessons learned in communities across the nation to lay the foundation for a comprehensive and enforceable policy that works for all. The plan has already garnered support from the city’s leading industry association, the Alliance for Neighborhood Prosperity.

HomeAway is committed to continued collaboration with our property managers and owners and the broader community to chart a responsible path forward for the vacation rental industry in New Orleans.
